Frankly speaking, I expect impeachment proceedings, or at least a continuous stream of special panels, congressional investigations, subpoenas, and maybe a special prosecutor or two if they can swing it.
The mental compartmentalization required to lambast Obama (of all people!) as an arrogant, inexperienced, racist, power-hungry narcissist and then nominate Donald Trump is impressive by itself.
But the doublethink required to howl for Hillary’s head on a pike for 25 years and then meekly sit at a table with her and dispassionately work out the business of America’s government would be quite another level.
Congressional Republicans have boxed themselves into a corner. If Clinton is elected and they work with her like civilized people, their conservative constituents will tar and feather them and run them out of town on a rail come re-election time. I wouldn’t be surprised if any conservatives working with Clinton find some of their former
supporters start sending them death threats.
