2017 ASPIRANTS IN ANAMBRA URGEG TO UNVEIL PROGRAMMES

As the campaigns for the 2017 Anambra State governorship election is gradually gathering momentum, the Movement for the Conduct of Local Government Election in Anambra State (MCLGEAS) has called on aspirants to the exalted office to unveil their package for the state instead of trying to outdo one another in burial ceremonies. The group’s coordinator, Comrade Obi Ositadinma told our correspondent that many known aspirants have taken subtly their campaigns to burial and marriage ceremonies as well as new yam festivals.

He noted that the affected aspirants after attending social functions to which they are not invited, flood the Facebook and Internet with the pictures they take during the ceremonies. Ositadinma said that Government House is not for aspirants who attend the greatest number of social functions but for the one who is ready to tell the people of the state how he intends to fix Anambra State. “It has become so embarrassing to us in MCLGEAS, that politics in Anambra State has been reduced to this abysmal level where people think the only way they can get votes from people is to attend their burials and other functions. “It has gotten so bad that some aspirants now cry more than the bereaved during burial all in the name of trying to present a compassionate figure. Some others assume the role of Chief Host in ceremonies they were never invited to. “The moment they are done, the Internet and facebook is awash with where they are shedding crocodile tears, this is not acceptable. We expect a serious aspirant to tell us what he has for the people if he makes it to Government House and not by wrongly assuming that he is popular by the number of burial ceremonies attended,” he stressed.
